Restasis is a prescription eye drop medicine
used to treat keratoconjunctivitis sicca, also known as dry eye. It is an
ophthalmic emulsion formula, meaning it has a higher viscosity than oil or
water so it can better stay on your eyes.
Restasis is for people with suppressed tear
production caused by ocular inflammation (inflammation of the middle layer of
the eye).
The generic alternative of Restasis,
Cyclosporine ophthalmic, is not manufactured by the company that makes the
brand product.
